Streptavidin – Fluorescein
Streptavidin has a molecular weight of 53kDa and is purified from Streptomyces avidinii. It is a tetrameric protein composed of identical subunits. Each streptavidin monomer binds one biotin molecule with a very high affinity (dissociation constant (Kd) ≈10−14 mol/L) and specificity. It has been demonstrated that the Streptavidin – Biotin interaction is more specific than Avidin - Biotin.
Streptavidin-Fluorescein is used in conjunction with biotinylated primary antibodies, whose presence can be detected measuring the fluorescence emission of the Fluorescein. Fluorescein is a fluorophore widely used in a number of applications. Fluorescein has its excitation peak at 494 nm and emission peak at 521 nm.
All of our conjugates are produced using our Lightning-Link® bioconjugation technology, therefore providing high quality, stable conjugates for use in your application.
For added flexibility we provide the conjugates in two different pack sizes of 1mg and 100ug. Furthermore the conjugates are freeze-dried so shipping at ambient temperature is not a problem.
